Laura Yassky is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with a Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. Laura received her B.A. in Sociology and Marketing from Duke University where she was a Division I student-athlete and an Academic All-American. Most recently, Laura dedicated the past 7 years of her life to her work at a large technology company where she partnered with clients across consulting and career-coaching capacities. She has fine-tuned these skills to translate naturally to the therapeutic alliance.

Laura is warm, emotionally attuned, and curious, allowing clients to feel that they can be their most authentic and unfiltered selves. She utilizes the following evidence-based modalities to inform her integrative and client-centered approach: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She approaches treatment from a holistic perspective, often incorporating mindfulness exercises and somatic experiencing into her practice.

Laura’s goal-oriented and solution-focused approach gives clients the space to act as agents of their own positive change, allowing them to take renewed ownership over their narratives. Together we will collaborate on your therapeutic goals and ensure that we are working towards achievable outcomes and ultimately, self-transformation.
